At OSJS we develop horses to participate at the
Grand Prix level in show jumping, our Grand Prix Horse Development program (GPD).
Our horses are not 'for sale'. We train them
following classical training methods with a strong emphasis on dressage and
gymnastic work progressing the horse based on the horses' physical, mental
and emotional ability and stage.
We are very selective on the horses we take on
to work with. We view the horses as our long term partners and make
sure they have the ability to progress towards GP level competition.
Only horses that display the ability, willingness and desire to compete at
the GP level stay in the GPD program. All others are placed with
individuals who will be happy to have a well trained 1.20m or 1.30m jumper.
We work with owners that are interested in
putting the well being of the horse first, have the resources to support a
horse being developed to Grand Prix level, and believe in our motto,
'Horsemanship Above All" (tm).
Owners take pride in watching their horses
develop, progress and see their horse enjoy the work they are doing.
If an offer is received for one of the horses at a horse show, we let the
horse owner know about the offer. We then discuss the buyer's
credentials in detail and if we feel the horse will be successful with the
buyer we then proceed with the sale.
We will gladly discuss our program in more
detail if the above interests you.
Only mares with exceptional pedigrees and
jumping ability are accepted into our program. This provides the
owners with the option of selling embryos of the mares while the mares are
in training and competition. At present we have the Imported
Holsteiner stamm 18B1 mare Meggie by Cheenook out of a Calleto II mare as
part of the GPD.
