Athens Olympics and he was last year second in the Grand Prix at Aachen.

San Ramiro.
The chestnut stallion Papayer xx covered as a private
stallion in Westphalian breeding for ten years, from 1961 to 1972. His
achievements were quite out of the ordinary. His first year at stud already
produced the top international competition mare Panama 4 (aka Petra) / Peter
Schmitz (i.a. winner of the French Showjumping Derby in La Baule). She was the
dam of the first rate full-siblings Gaylord 6 / Hendrik Snoek resp. Golden Gate
/ Lutz Merkel (both by Goldberg). His second crop resulted in the bay Privatier,
one of the most successful dressage horses of his generation. This
strong performance motherline makes the genetic makeup of the Zangersheide

Casanova Z a
valuable addition to breeders in North America.

Ramzes
x is the sire of Raimond who sired Ramiro Z, found in the maternal side of both
San Ramiro and
Casanova Z. Next
to the Hanoverian stallions Agram and Ferdinand, the Anglo-Arabian grey Ramzes x
belongs to the triumvirate of German procreators of sports horses following the
Second World War. Ramzes x was born in Poland in 1937 and in 1948 became
the property of Clemens Freiherr von Nagel. He initially placed him at the
disposal of the later trainer of the federal German showjumper riders
Hans-Heinrich "Micky" Brinkmann as a showjumper, but parallel to this also
utilised him for breeding at his studfarm Vornholz. Even today, Vornholz
is still the most significant breeding centre of Germany even though it ceased
to exist in 1978. Numerous Olympic horses were born there. Without
Ramzes x, German warm blood breeding would not be what it is today. In
1951 and 1952 Ramzes x covered at the Holstein state stud of Neuendorf as a
leased stallion where he sired such excellent horses as Retina / Fritz
Theidemann, Romanus / Hans Gunther Winkler and Ramona / Alwin Schockemohle.
These three horses were the foundation of Ramzes x's fame in Holstein and were
teh impetus for a further two covering seasons in Neuendorf in 1959 and 1960.
He again procreated high class showjumpers, as well as a number of approved sons
and outstanding broodmares, of whom Vase, the full-sister to the aforementioned
Romanus was probably the most significant. Her blood is pulsating in
numerous Holstein horses today. The Ramzes x bloodline later splits up
into two main streams: From Holstein, the Raimond - Ramiro branch was
widely distributed not only nation-wide, but World-wide.
Sacramento
Song xx, serviced for 7 seasons as a private stallion in Holstein. Prevailing
thinking is that he was not used for breeding often enough and today it is
obvious he is viewed as one of the best sires of show jumpers in Holstein since
the war. In spite of a very limited number of off-spring, 40 jumpers were
successful up to the highest classes, among them exceptional horses such as
Societe (D. Hafemeister, Nelson Pessoa), San Siro (G. Muller, winnings over
30,000 DM) or, of course, Sandro himself (F. Sloothaak, winnings over 50,000 DM
to 1989). Sacramento Song lives on and daily grows more influential in
both dressage and jumper breeding. He was a classically bred English
Thoroughbred, who stood in Holstein from 1973 until his early death in 1979.
Sacramento Song is described in Dr. Dietrich Rossow's Stallion Book of the
Holsteiner Warmblood Breed as: "A classically bred, English Thoroughbred, with
beautiful, smoothly harmonious topline. Beautiful head, rather low set on neck,
impressive shoulder with good coupling to the croup. Well muscled, strong legs
and feet, sufficient gaits. Tremendous jumping ability, very tight with front
end and good with knees." Dr Rossow was of the opinion that he bred: ‘Very good
temperaments, keen, energetic dispositions... Top jumper sire!’ Alas as a
private stallion he was only sparingly used by the Holstein breeders to their
later regret. By 1990 with progeny earnings of DM696,000 he was the 8th most
successful post-war Thoroughbred sire in Germany! Sacramento Song had 31
competitors with placings, 29 of which were showjumpers. After his death three
exceptional sons were licensed on the grounds of their competition results:
Sympatico, Sacramento Son and Sandro, sire of the Hanoverian stallion
San Ramiro.
Sandro
Z is one of the most succesfull breeding stallions in both dressaage &
showjumping as well as being one of the first stallions to prove himself in the
sport. Under Franke Sloothaak he accumulated winnings amounting to DM 55,000.
Sandro Z's progeny are very sought after for sport horses. At the The Hague
World Equestrian Games (1994) he had three representatives, no less, in Sandro
Song (Ante Simlesa), Safari (Michael Abo) and Paradiso (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson).
Sandro Z has more than forty licensed sons including Silvio I and II, Sandro
Song and Salido Z. Many of his offspring are performing at the highest level
showjumping as well as dressage these include Sagrat (Guy Goossen), Silas M (Yanix
Elad), Sheilaand Siundance Kid (Franke Sloothaak) and Santorin F (Fritz Fervers).
Shutterfly is by Silvio, a son of Sandro Z, same as
San Ramiro.

blood in his sire's side. Wahnfried is also the sire of the foundation
sire Der Lowe.

Wienerwald. Wienerwald sired nine Graded Stallions and was famous for
siring international Show Jumpers who won over 880,000DM as well as some
outstanding Dressage Horses.
